The next volume in this series is called Amplifying Intuition: Volume 3 - From Simulation to Reality. Its purpose is to help readers to apply the principles of visual simulation and interpretation to their own businesses.
Instead of deploying a simulated business whose performance is determined by a computer program, From Simulation to Reality encourages readers to use the data from within their own business in the quest for performance improvement.
In From Simulation to Reality, the Business Flight Simulator is replaced by a Business Trend Visualiser that enables readers to understand the dynamics of their own enterprise. Instead of considering a simplified business simulation, readers are invited to focus on the complexities of their multi-product, multi-national, multi-customer corporations.
From Simulation to Reality is also especially concerned with helping readers to see where their businesses are going in the future, rather than simply reporting on historic performance. Why this focus on the future? Because it is the only thing that most people can change. As a finance director friend of mine laconically commented, only accountants can alter the past, and it’s usually illegal.
